As Silverlight makes its way into Web sites around the world, many ASP.NET developers are asking themselves how and where should we incorporate Silverlight into our applications? The answer is not obvious because there is actually a wide range of ways you could incorporate it. You could make your entire page a Silverlight control and do everything there, or more likely, you could identify portions of pages that would benefit the most from Silverlight and integrate rich user interface elements where they add the most benefit and leave the underlying application structure the same. The latter approach is sometimes called adding 'islands of richness' to your pages – and the good news with Silverlight is that those islands have many possible bridges to the surrounding content via scriptable methods and events. This talk will explore a ranges of techniques for incorporating Silverlight content into ASP.NET applications.
